The story of the english Bulldog.
Although
the origin of the English Bulldog is not established certainly, we may assume
that it belongs to the oldest arisen dogbreed in England.The English bulldog derives from the Mastiff or the Alaunt and the mysterious Talbot. Nowadays the Mastiff is well known as Molosser, but the history of the Talbot tells: a white dog known for a large head, short skull, thick set body with a powerful forehand and a fearless character, who doesn’t let go of his prey untill he conquerror it. The breed was not know as English Bulldog. Just about 1630, the bulldogbreed was mentioned,as this breed was most suited for bullbaiting.
Otherwise
the bulldog was not only used for fights against bulls, but also against bears,
monkeys, lions, and badgers, as well as against his congener.
